You are not alone, I spend as little time in public as possible. But there are thousands of us glassy eyed psychos left over from VietNam with varying degrees of PTSD, just trying to get by.Up until just a few yrs ago I never heard of PTSD and if I was told I had a problem, whoever told me was the problem. 2 or 3 yrs ago, a couple of Marines on 100% disability got ahold of me and started asking all kinds of questions, which turned out to be all the symptoms of ptsd. I could see that all of them fit me to one extent or another, but the thing that got my attention was when they told me that between VA disability and SS that I could draw around $4600 a month tax free. And that the way the symptoms fit me that I was one of the psychos that damn sure had it coming.
I filed a claim a little while later, and was flat turned down the first time. Had it been left up to me I would have told them to shove it at that point. But my wife kept me on track and helped with the paperwork and such, that now I draw 100$ VA and Social Security. Which all leads to my being able to stay out of the public eye alot, and ride my harley about when I am ready....
So hang in...those claims can make it past all paperpushers if you keep pushing long enough.
