I don't think it can be "Cured" just maybe managed with Med's, they would love to say "Here take a pill, your CURED" but they can't take away the "Stressor" that caused the PTSD,.
I see this articles on "Video Games" they use to take the Veteran back to the event and have them re-play it over and over again, Its some kind of way they get the brain to think of the "Stressor" as the scene from the Video, thus suppose to "Cure you".
I know they've been looking into for awhile , even thinking about using it on "Bi-poloar disorder,Major Depression,etc... (Wife suffers from Major depression).
I think the problem with their "Video Game " treatment is this,
"How many of you ever had a "Smell" trigger a memory?" So that IMHO is a problem.
When I got out of the service, I went to work at a mid size airport. The first "Hot and humid day, smelling the Jet fuel and Asphalt" was too much of a memory of being in the service, I quit.Sounds stupid but I knew I couldn't live smelling that without looking back.
So I cant imagine going thru what you folks go threw on a daily bases .
