I know what you mean. I served in ODS, and was diagnosed with PTSD when I came home in 1991. Through the years, I've had my ups and downs but never felt like my ability to function was taken away.
I can work, its just my personal life that took the hardest beating. I was diagnosed with diabetes 23 days after I retired, making it a presumptive condition but the VA forumlary doesn't carry the current meds I need (new insulin treatments)
Long story.
Now I am asking myself if my job as a news reporter (which I love) is causing stress that makes my blood sugars hard to handle or is the PTSD getting worse.
I am, taking a vacation and getting away for a few days at a retreat center so I hope to find some answers in the silence.
Thanks for letting me know I'm not totally nuts,
Teresa
